How Physical Growth Reflects Our Spiritual Journey
From the moment we take our first breath, life begins a process of growth. We learn to crawl, walk, speak, and navigate the world around us. Every lesson, every mistake, and every moment shapes who we are. But this growth doesn’t end with age or experience—it’s mirrored in a deeper, eternal way when we are born again in Christ.
Jesus said in John 3:3, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
Being born again isn’t just a spiritual phrase—it’s a real transformation. It marks the start of a new life, one where we begin again like a child: learning, growing, and depending entirely on our Heavenly Father.
Just as newborns need milk and care, so do new believers. At first, our understanding may be small. We stumble. We doubt. We hunger. But as we spend time in the Word, in prayer, and in fellowship with other believers, we begin to mature in faith. We learn to:
Walk in obedience
Speak life and truth
Discern right from wrong
Trust God in the storms
Reflect Christ in our actions
And just like physical growth, spiritual growth isn’t always quick. It takes time. But God is patient—and faithful. He walks with us every step, teaching us, correcting us, and encouraging us.
Final Thought:
Being born is the beginning of life. Being born again is the beginning of eternity. Both come with growing pains—but both are filled with purpose. Don’t be discouraged by the pace of your progress. God sees every step and celebrates your growth.
“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.” (2 Peter 3:18
