In a world full of distractions, busyness, and shifting values, it’s easy to lose sight of what truly holds a family together. But the strongest foundation a home can be built on isn’t wealth, tradition, or even love for each other—it’s love for God.

When we place God at the center of our homes, everything else starts to align. Our patience deepens. Our forgiveness grows. Our love for each other is no longer rooted in our feelings but in His faithfulness. As it says in Matthew 22:37-39, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind… and love your neighbor as yourself.” This order matters—because when we love God first, we learn how to love others rightly.

A God-centered family doesn’t mean a perfect family. It means a family that prays together in storms and praises together in calm. It means teaching our children that faith isn’t just for Sundays, but for every moment—whether we’re gathered at the dinner table or walking through hardship.

Deuteronomy 6:5-7 reminds us, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart… Impress these commands on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.”

The legacy we leave begins in how we love—how we treat each other, how we lead, and how we worship. And when love for God is our starting point, everything we build—marriage, parenting, and legacy—can withstand the storm.

Build your house on the Rock. Start with loving God. The rest will follow.
